MEET UP IN MEDELLÍN, THE CITY OF ETERNAL SPRING
Medellín is a bustling modern city with a complicated past. Still recovering from the drug cartel wars of the ‘1970s and ‘80s and the legacy of Pablo Escobar the Medellín has made incredible strides. However, many neighborhoods and barrios are not as fortunate. We’ll explore a variety of well-known areas including El Poblada and Communa 13 to understand both sides of Medellín’s recovery.
VOLUNTEER WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY
Access to a safe education and after-school programs for kids growing up in challenging neighborhoods is critical to the future of these communities. We’ll meet amazing leaders committed to this life-changing work and have the opportunity to volunteer with the children.
DIVE INTO THE MUD VOLCANO OF EL TOTUMO
Tradition has it that El Totumo used to be fire and lava, before being tamed by a local priest. This priest banished the devil with holy water and turned the volcano to mud trapping the heat inside. This naturally warmed mud supposedly has a variety of healing properties. Come discover for yourself!

Based on a lot of research on how to avoid the pitfalls of short term voluntourism, Justifi gets involved in some hands on volunteering through local organisations who are working with some of the most vulnerable people in society. Building, planting, painting and teaching English to kids and creating a lasting impact on the lives of all involved.
